Apart from the poor performance of his team Shah Rukh Khan has yet another thing to worry about. The actor is the owner of the KKR team.

The complaint was submitted in the court of the additional chief judicial magistrate in Jaipur and reports say that the court will hear the matter on April 12.(IPL-5)

Lawyer Nem Singh Rathore who filed the complaint on behalf of Anand Singh Rathore, the director of the Jaipur Cricket Academy said that smoking in public has been banned in Rajasthan since 2010 and SRK had been caught puffing away in front of thousands of spectators. His act was even broadcast live on the TV channel which was airing the match.(Yahoo)

Nem Singh further added that spectators were being allowed into the stadium only after frisking. "The police was confiscating any objectionable items including cigarettes while frisking. However, it seems Shah Rukh was allowed to carry the cigarette packet into the stadium which is negligence on part of the police,” he said in his complaint.(Bing)

0 IPL Preview: CSK vs MI at Chennai

Sights firmly set on a hat-trick of titles, defending champions Chennai Super Kings will open their campaign against last year’s Champions League Twenty20 winner Mumbai Indians in the inaugural match of the Indian Premier League V here tomorrow.

The season’s opener at the MA Chidambaram stadium could not have got any better as two of the strongest teams in the tournament will set the tone for the high-octane Twenty20 tournament over the next eight weeks.

CSK vs MI

Banking on their home advantage which enabled them to win back-to-back titles, the Chennai outfit, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will be hoping for their third consecutive IPL crown, but for that to happen they will have to pull out all stops to ensure a winning start to their campaign as their rivals —Mumbai Indians — appear to hold a slender edge.

Dhoni led Chennai to two IPL titles, one final and a semifinal appearance, besides the 2010 CLT20 crown,  and would like to put behind Team India’s recent poor run and utilise the Twenty20 event to ease the pressure.

Besides the big-hitting Dhoni, Chennai’s batting looks solid with Suresh Raina, S Badrinath and M Vijay being joined by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, whom the India Cements-owned team bought for a whopping $2 million during the IPL V auctions.

However, Chennai would miss the services of opener Mike Hussey and fast bowler Ben Hilfenhaus for the initial part of the tournament as they are busy representing Australia in the Caribbean till the end of this month.

Another Australian Doug Bollinger, who has recovered from an injury, and South Africa’s Albie Morkel are expected to form the pace attack for now, while the spin department will be spearheaded by local boy Ravichandran Ashwin.

Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, will be under a new captain in Harbhajan Singh after Sachin Tendulkar relinquished the position yesterday.

With a few new additions to the team, Mumbai looks a solid side this year and will be desperate to annex their maiden IPL title, which has eluded the outfit for the last four years.

Mumbai’s confidence is high after Harbhajan led it to the CLT20 victory last year in the absence of an injured Tendulkar.

For Tendulkar, who would play a pivotal role in Mumbai’s batting line up along the likes of Rohit Sharma, it would be a special moment to play on his favourite ground in what is his first appearance on Indian soil after completing the historical 100 international centuries.

With the pressure of 100 international tons off his back now, Tendulkar is expected to fire on all cylinders and entertain his fans in the upcoming event.

Mumbai, owned by Reliance Industries, had strengthened their team by bringing in wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha through the transfer window.

Mumbai also added Herschelle Gibbs, Mitchell Johnson, Robin Peterson, RP Singh and Thisara Perera to their squad through the auctions, while Sri Lankan speedster Lasith Malinga and Munaf Patel will hold the aces in the pace department.

In big-hitting Kieron Pollard, Mumbai has a devastating batsman who can change the complexion of any match single-handedly.

0 Katy Perry soaks up Chennai ahead of IPL-5

All set to perform for the first time in India here on Tuesday, international pop icon Katy Perry seemed eager and willing to get a taste of Tamil culture and the city. The ‘Teenage Dream’ singer looked chirpy and fresh as she arrived here on Monday afternoon and checked into Taj Coromandel. She even tweeted after arriving from Tokyo: “After what felt like the longest flight ever, I’m finally here! Honoured to play in Chennai tomorrow!”

She was more than delighted when the hotel staff accorded her a traditional aarti and tikka welcome.

Known for a rather different and often overdone sense of fashion, the American pop star chose to wear a simple Indian block-printed dress. She also wore a bindi with apparent pride.

When asked what she thought of Chennai, 27-year-old Perry said breezily, “Well, I’ve just gotten here... I can’t wait to go see what it looks like!” While she has been slated as the show-stopper for the IPL inaugural show, alongside Amitabh Bachchan and other Bollywood stars, Perry is expected to perform a few of her biggest hits including ‘I Kissed A Girl’, before the IPL anthem.

Meanwhile, the Taj Coromandel has gone into overdrive to pamper the songstress by offering her the royal suite, which had played host to Queen Elizabeth II. Two personalized lady butlers, bath linen with her initials, a jacuzzi and over ten varieties of exotic teas have been provided for the singer’s brief stay here.
