0 Diamond Jubilee: Charles and Camilla visit Canada

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are flying to Canada for their first overseas tour as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee events.

The couple will tour New Brunswick, Ontario and Saskatchewan.

The four-day trip coincides with Victoria Day, the Queen's official birthday in Canada.(Google)

It follows Prince Harry's trip to Belize, the Bahamas and Jamaica, and the Earl and Countess of Wessex's trip to other Caribbean islands.

The Princess Royal has also visited South Africa as part of Jubilee celebrations.

During Charles and Camilla's tour, the prince will join a gathering of first nations' chiefs in Toronto.

"The national chief will present the chiefs from around the country and there will be a traditional welcome (for the prince)," a Clarence House spokesman said.(Yahoo)

"They will talk about the issues that are uppermost in first nations peoples' minds."

The pair will also attend a Queen's Diamond Jubilee medals ceremony.

The official welcome ceremony will be held at the Canadian Forces Base Gagetown, where Charles trained in the 1970s, on Monday.

To mark Victoria Day, they will attend a public festival in Saint John, then fly to Toronto for a traditional Victoria Day fireworks celebration over Lake Ontario.

During Tuesday, Camilla will pay her first visit to the Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, of which she has recently become colonel-in-chief.

The tour will end in Regina, Saskatchewan, where the royals will help celebrate the centenary of Canada's legislative building.(Aol)

They will also attend a concert of the Regina Symphony Orchestra. The prince is royal patron of the orchestra.(Bing)
